Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers predicted the Packers would “run the table’ to earn a playoff berth. Rodgers and the Packers have far exceeded that prediction and will face the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game on Sunday (12:05 p.m. PT/3:05 p.m. ET, FOX).
The Packers have won eight consecutive games since Rodgers bold prediction, including a scintillating 34-31 win over Dallas in a divisional playoff game. Rodgers has been the catalyst behind the Packers surge. Rodgers has thrown 21 touchdown passes and just one interception during the winning streak.
As good as Rodgers has been, Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan has arguably performed better than Rodgers. Ryan produced a stellar performance in the Falcons 36-20 win against Seattle in the divisional round, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns in the game.
With two very hot quarterbacks, this game could turn into a shootout. Ryan threw three touchdown passes and Rodgers connected on four touchdown passes during the Falcons 33-32 win against the Packers during Week 8 of the regular season.
